On Thursday 28th November 2013 the Scouts, as part of their Astronomers badge, went to Cambridge's Institute of Astronomy in Cambridge. After being dived in to two groups the Scouts took it in turns to be in the main lecture hall with Greg and learn about the universe whilst the others went out side with Stacie to have a look at one of the telescopes. The night sky did not cooperate so the Scouts were unable to use the telescope but learnt a lot about it. Whist in the lecture hall the Scouts got to hold pieces of three different meteorites and learnt more about the plants and stars we see when we look at the night sky. After both groups had swapped over, and had a look though a telescope to find a Clanger, the evening ended with a quiz. Much fun was had and new things learnt. Many thanks to Stacie and Greg for a great evening.
