Over the last few, as part of the Electronics Badge, the Scout’s have been making their own VU meter. This is a circuit device that detects sounds and displays them as a series of lights, the more lights that light up the louder the sound. The Scouts had to learn how to solder and read the correct components symbols and values to put them in the right place. When they were competed and checked the Scouts were allowed to take them home. We thank Colin (Baloo) from Lay Electrics for supplying the kits and for helping the Scouts build them.
